Finland.

German M16 acquired by Finland in the 1920's. Shell markings are hidden under the paint. Refurbished post war with new green paint, chin strap and liner. To accommodate the new Finnish chin strap additional holes were drilled immediately above where the original chinstrap posts were once located. After being repainted, it appears that they were stacked with a layer of newspaper between the helmets. Some of this newspaper is still stuck to the helmet.

No extra holes added. Refurbished in exactly the same manner as the M55 on the bottom of this page, using the same type of liner, liner rivets and chin strap, all original paint striped and the helmet repainted gray.
